Modem Sensor

The modem sensor platform reports the signal quality of the Modem, as read with the AT+CSQ command.

The modem is queried every update_interval of the Modem component, only while it is connected, starting right after it connects. When the connection is lost, the sensors become unknown.

Configuration Variables

• rssi (Optional): The received signal strength in dBm, from -113 to -51. The sensor is unknown when the modem does not know the signal strength. All options from Sensor.
• ber (Optional): The bit error rate in percent: the representative value from 3GPP TS 45.008 for the quality class the modem reports, from 0.14 to 18.10. Many modems only report it on a GSM connection, so the sensor is unknown on other networks. All options from Sensor.
• modem_id (Optional, ID): The ID of the Modem component. Defaults to the configured modem.
