LP5562

The LP5562 component represents a Texas Instruments LP5562 4-channel (RGBW) LED driver (datasheet) in ESPHome. It uses I²C Bus for communication.

To use the channels of this component, you first need to set up the global lp5562 chip with an id, and then define the individual output channels.

# Minimalistic configuration entry, single chip, single output
lp5562:
id: lp5562_1
# Individual outputs
output:
- platform: lp5562
id: lp5562_1_white
lp5562_id: lp5562_1
channel: white
  • address (Optional, int): The I²C address of the driver. Defaults to 0x30.

  • id (Optional, ID): The id to use for this lp5562 component. Use this if you have multiple LP5562s connected at the same time.

The LP5562 output component exposes an LP5562 PWM channel of a global LP5562 chip as a float output.

# Complete example configuration entry for 1 driver and 4 outputs
lp5562:
- address: 0x30
id: lp5562_1
# Individual outputs
output:
- platform: lp5562
id: 'lp5562_1_red'
channel: red
lp5562_id: 'lp5562_1'
- platform: lp5562
id: 'lp5562_1_green'
channel: green
lp5562_id: 'lp5562_1'
- platform: lp5562
id: 'lp5562_1_blue'
channel: blue
lp5562_id: 'lp5562_1'
- platform: lp5562
id: 'lp5562_1_white'
channel: white
lp5562_id: 'lp5562_1'
# Sample use as an RGBW light
light:
- platform: rgbw
name: "Sample RGBW light"
red: lp5562_1_red
green: lp5562_1_green
blue: lp5562_1_blue
white: lp5562_1_white
  • id (Required, ID): The id to use for this output component.

  • channel (Required, string): Choose the channel of the LP5562 for this output component. One of red, green, blue, white.

  • lp5562_id (Optional, ID): Manually specify the ID of the LP5562 chip. Use this if you have multiple LP5562s you want to use at the same time.

  • All other options from Output.
