Midea PortaSplit
The midea_portasplit climate platform controls a Midea PortaSplit air conditioner over the UART connection
normally used by its Wi-Fi module.
The PortaSplit uses a variant of the Midea UART protocol that the Midea component
cannot drive: it ignores climate commands unless their sync byte is 0x00. This component speaks that variant and
also takes the place of the original Wi-Fi module, which the air conditioner expects to be present.
This component requires a UART bus with both tx_pin and rx_pin set, using baud_rate: 9600.
Like other Midea units, the module connector works at 5 V logic levels, so a 3.3 V board needs a level shifter.
The Midea page lists dongle hardware that fits.
