RX8111 Time Source
The RX8111 time platform reads UTC time from an Epson RX8111CE real-time clock (RTC) over I²C. Configure the I²C bus separately.
# Example configuration entrytime: - platform: rx8111 id: rtcThe RTC is read on startup and then at the update_interval (15 minutes by default). It is not set from the
system time automatically; use the rx8111.write_time action for that. A read does not synchronize the system
clock when the RTC reports a power loss or an oscillator stop, or when its time, calendar date or weekday is
invalid. Those flags are cleared only by a successful rx8111.write_time.
Configuration Variables
Section titled “Configuration Variables”- address (Optional, int): Manually specify the I²C address of the RTC. Defaults to
0x32. - All other options from Base Time Configuration.
rx8111.write_time Action
Section titled “rx8111.write_time Action”This Action writes the current system time to the RTC. It needs a valid system time with a year from 2019 to 2099. A successful write clears the RTC’s time-validity flags and keeps its alarm, timer, update and event flags.
NOTE
The RX8111 component will not write to the RTC unless triggered explicitly by this action.

Section titled “rx8111.read_time Action”This Action reads the RTC and synchronizes the system clock when the time
read is valid, in addition to the reads at the update_interval.

Section titled “Full Configuration Example”The RTC is read once at boot, and written whenever Home Assistant provides a trusted time.
