Modem Text Sensor

The modem text sensor platform reports the network type of the Modem and the unsolicited result codes (URC) it sends on its own, such as network registration changes.

# Example configuration entry
text_sensor:
- platform: modem
network_type:
name: Modem Network Type
urc:
name: Modem URC
  • network_type (Optional): The type of network the modem is attached to, as read with the AT+CNSMOD command: No service, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA, HSUPA, HSPA, LTE, or Unknown when the modem does not answer or reports another value. Only the SIM7600 and SIM7670 models are supported; other models are rejected at validation. The modem is queried every update_interval of the Modem component, only while it is connected, starting right after it connects. When the connection is lost, the text sensor shows No service. All options from Text Sensor.
  • urc (Optional): Publishes each unsolicited result code (URC) the modem sends as one line. URCs that arrive while the modem answers a command, or before the previous URC is published, can be missed. All options from Text Sensor.
  • modem_id (Optional, ID): The ID of the Modem component. Defaults to the configured modem.
